Sonnet: All Things Tend To Equalize On Earth Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: All Things Tend To Equalize On Earth

Rating: 5.0

All things tend to equalize in this world,
Like water flowing down the gradient;
Prince becoming pauper: hot turning cold,
Anger becomes a cool temperament!

Like the river-water flowing to sea,
Most virtues may become vices with time;
Aristocracy meets commonality;
A little known person becomes sublime.

Metals turn salts; go back to stage of ore!
All living things to soil, one day will go;
Love turns hate: hate opens the loving door!
A Rich man must one day, all wealth forego.

All things tend to equalize in this world;
Something that’s straight will turn one day quite curl’d.
