Sonnet: Four Years As A Medical Dean Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Four Years As A Medical Dean

Four years have flown away with me as dean;
I wonder what kind of a road's ahead!
Nevertheless, I expect bright a scene;
But I must keep my always level-head!

Though things were much against me all the time,
I trod my way uphill, on pebbly grass;
But God was Guide and Protector, most prime;
The corrupt world around me failed to pass!

I praise the team that helped me do my job;
If I had won, it was because of them;
Sometimes, the problems made me almost sob!
The fabric of deanship, I had to hem!

My faith in God will help me till the end;
His righteous ones, with love, God will defend!

fondly dedicated to the Management, Staff and Students
