Sonnet: God Steadies All Feet Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: God Steadies All Feet

No man can climb the lofty hills of life
And mountain-sides so steep, all on his own;
God's help is needed when he faces strife;
His grace ensures he never ev'r falls down.

Just see the mountain-goat whose strength of legs
Helps it to climb the dizzy heights so steep;
It balances on rugged rocks and pegs
By strength of hind limbs that are never weak.

When animals can do such feats by feet,
The human being uses special brain,
To climb unsteady life's ladder so neat;
And walks with pride in every earthly lane!

So, heart of man must pray to God for aid,
And do the things God wants him to as bade!
