Sonnet: Life’s Higher Rungs Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Life’s Higher Rungs

Life’s higher rungs are fraught with dangers more;
The mountains steep are tough to climb till peak;
The rain from higher clouds in torrents, pour;
We cannot see the Almighty, we seek.

If aim is high, the steps to reach aren't few;
The risks we take are more if dreams are tall;
In life, let problems never deter you;
We can well climb a formidable wall.

But plan, we must the steps we undertake;
We soar to dizzy heights powered by will;
Set-backs shouldn't or apply any brake;
At times, we foresee problems by mock-drill.

Nevertheless, the grace of God is prime;
Man’s feats are blessed by prayer in God’s time.

life is a platform to perform different duties and works or goals, which carry us to the high will, we differently in different ways take steps to reach them, God himself is the one without whose bless nothing can be attained, every success in life comes out from intense praying to Him, hence, we touch the stone-mile. thanks
