Harpooned is the mighty Whale in a trice,
And the Coral-shelf recklessly removed;
Bloodied, the sea by Fish/Man’s blood unwise;
Despite his oil-spills, man’s heart is unmoved.
Thousands of Birds die in the oily sludge;
Pirates plunder fisher-men on the seas;
Neighboring countries bear ill-will and grudge;
Merchant ships cannot navigate in peace.
Off-shore drilling has added immense harm;
Laid are pipelines for oil under the sea;
Blue-life has been suppressed by heavy arm;
There is not an end to this new malady.
Nature has its own checks and balances;
Pollution threatens survival chances.
