Sonnet On Sudden Romance Poem by Lorenzo Lynn

Sonnet On Sudden Romance

From midnight on a shoreline where we met,
We held each one defenseless till the morn,
You clasping my too willing self that let
Unbridled passion roar in life reborn.

We strangers loved as lovers through the night
Awaiting heaven’s candle rushing day
To urge sweet night farewell with morning light
To bathe our selves in each as lovers say.

Then restless nights were filled with restful dreams
While puzzles, games, the two of us as one,
Unchallenged, met undaunted, so it seems
No foe could overcome what we had done.

It seemed a perfect match by Fate designed
To soon begun too late for love too blind.
