Sonnet: One Can’t Be Both Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: One Can’t Be Both

A fruit is rotten, partially/ in full;
A dress looks ugly, if there are some holes;
A person can’t be bright as well as dull;
One can’t remain at same instant, in poles!

A face looks awful with freckles or dots;
A cradle-baby shouldn’t be found in bins!
A heart isn’t pure, if it has sinful thoughts;
A soul can’t be in heaven with some sins.

Good man with vices isn’t called ‘good’ at all;
Bad man with virtues is a ‘bad’ one still;
Most Holy God sees sin as massive ‘wall’;
One can’t go to heaven as well as hell!

God’s Kingdom is impeccably all pure;
Sin’s cancer when advanced, defies a cure!
