I tried to climb life's hill, all on my own; I found I could not make it to the top; I tried to walk and run life's road alone; I found I couldn't do it for long but hop!
I tried to steer the ship of Life to sea; I found I could not brave the stormy waves; I tried to venture in life's lands, singly; I found I could not make it to the caves.
I tried to climb the tree of life solely; I found that I couldn't make it to its crown; I tried to ascend life's ladder, freely; I found it rather tall and soon slipped down!
And then, I remembered my God and tried; All things seemed easy and with joy I cried!
