Sonnet X (Melancholy) Poem by Christian Crisostomo

Sonnet X (Melancholy)

Sonnet X
(Melancholy)

The lonely moon stared at me tonight;
The night falls into my eyes
as if it tries to get me out of this realm.

The hounds are howling
the stars are lamenting
it seems that they've lost their courage!

I bear this melancholy from the balcony of your soul;
I was standing outside your words
Shouting soundless words from my soul
but my voice does not reach you.

I crave to see your eyes and your smile
but it was forbidden for a man to see a demi-god
so I'll stay outside your realm, looking at the moon
and start longing for the infinite!
