Sorcerer Poem by Barry Middleton

Sorcerer

witchcraft and love story
mandrake and morning-glory
cast an occult magic spell

warlocks with potions
and conjures with notions
hold secrets no one can tell

the tears that won't fall
are a clarion call
presaging the toll of a bell

love is absent of reason
it is just for a season
until an enchanted farewell

when promises broken
are the only love token
in realms where witches dwell
