Soul-Searching Poem by Lauren Joy

Soul-Searching

Thoughts run like blank pages through my mind
I search desperately, but there is nothing to be found
I am overflowing with what shoud be behind
It's rising so quickly I feel I've already drowned
I avoid my reflection because I hate what I see
I cannot come to terms with who I am
I feel like I've lost my own identity
I'm missing out on perfection by one gram
My dreams are twisted and haunt me all day
I become confused, dazed, jaded, and cold
The line between fact and fiction quickly frays
I am left with nothing to hold
