Southern Cross Autumn Poem by Paul Warren

Southern Cross Autumn

I like the way the sun shines
And makes the sky so blue
On an early autumn day
As a gentle breeze blows by too

And the birds are flocked together
They will decide where to go
As they fly and weave around
So wonderful a show

Late in the afternoon the sun goes down
And a cooler wind blows
We gather together by a fire
As great memories continue to grow

Mateship is our Australian way
As the Southern Cross rules the sky
Its a sign of our freedom won
And our code to live by.
