Spinning - Poem by Adrienne Crawford

Spinning in space
No trace of a place.
I journey to a distant shore
I tour
The sandy beach
Til I reach, the dunes
Just out of site
I fight back the tears
That fall in tiers
Down my face.
Unfazed by your disdain
As the rain
Continues from my eyes.
Why you say do I cry?
This living alone
Is no bone for a dog
But a choice thrust upon me
As I sort thru
The corners of my life.
Filled with the fumes
Of a former love.
The one who filled my life, gone.
No song in my heart
As I depart
This here and now.
Somehow I'll win.
I can't see.
But I'm sure
In future
I'll be free.
