Spring Poem by Lebo Chepape

Spring

(originally written 2012)

Once upon a bright sunny morn
Spring is born
The beast of the East
Awakens from his sleep

Summers expression
Winter's deception
The good old sun
He peaks over the earth
And gives all of life a rebirth
The give trees and bowing flowers
Get a brand new colour, form and worth

Butterflies dance in the sun's golden beams
The grass grows green
And water fills the streams
Beauty is what it all seems
Beauty is what it all is
Wake up! this you can't afford to miss
It's a brands new beginning of colour and bliss

Above lies the African sky
A clear blue sheet
Where distance and clouds meet
In the midst of the lingering heat
Below the tall evergreen trees
Among the nests of the birds and the hives of the bees
Through rivers and open streams
Over the hill through the mountain chasm
Spring soars with a vibrant rhythm

Put on your swim gear
Spring is hear
Nearer than near
Splash in the cool water and swim a mile
Or just lay in the sun for a little while

The sun's full sharp gaze
Steaming blaze
Feel it kiss your skin
Clearing the shivers within
Close your eyes and slowly very deeply breathe in

Live laugh love spring
Let your hair loose
And don't worry about a single thing

LEBZ FOREVER
