St Kabeer's Couplets 23: Man Dies, Mind, Maya Nor Desires
Maya, nor mind have ever been dead,
Nor hope, nor yet aspiration,
Bodies did over and again,
Daas Kabeer has so said.

माया मरी ना मन मरा, मर-मर गए शरीर,
आशा तृष्णा ना मरी, कह गए दास कबीर।
Māyā marī nā mana marā, mara-mara gaye sharīr,
Āshā tŗśhņā nā narī, kaha gaye dāsa kabīr.
Man dies with his body over and again. But worldly illusion (Maya)never dies; nor yet delusion of his mind, nor wants and wishes, his longings and deep desires. In fact it is this unfulfilled desire that man has to take birth time and again. Man's gross body and mind both die, but not his subtle mind wherein his deep desires (known as sanskaaras)are carried forward.

So so true! How we carry forward the vasanas and samskaras from birth to birth. Maya is the cause for bondage. Another brilliant couplet of Kabir translated so beautifully by you Aniruddha ji.......10

Body is mortal where as soul is immortal. All resolves go with soul after death. A beautiful philosophical poem by Kabeer is well translated by you. Thank you for juxtaposition of original poem.
