St. Peter Poem by Cece Dev

St. Peter

Look at me Peter,
right in the eyes,
and tell me how
you refrain.
From judgement of your own?
As you send him up
as you send her down
to the gateways of hell
to the paradise of heaven.

Look at me Peter,
right in the eyes,
and tell me how
you life is guided
by a little book
that holds the fate
of the lost to chance.

Look at me Peter,
right in the eyes,
and tell me how
you can bare
to see the fiery fate
that awaits them there.
Because once it’s sealed
you can’t undo
what could have been.
Now you carry an unspoken sin.

Good luck Peter,
you have my best,
think twice
because to me,
I am your last test.
