Stagnant Poem by Daniel Brown

Stagnant

An inch to move you forward,
A foot to drag you back,
Distance measured,
Lost and gained,
Momentum seized and losses tracked...

A thought that brings you inward,
A word to fade to black,
Progress frozen,
Killed, unmade,
A life in ruins, losses stacked...
