In the night sky among the dead
Where old gods and heroes rest
For this is how we die
For this is how we live
The history of humankind unfolds
The good, the bad, the bittersweet
We still long to be immortal
Out of fear that runs too deep
We are particles that sprang to life
Flesh waiting to turn to dust again
Our blood, bones, and marrow too
Can only pulse for a short time
Our dreams are written in the stars
Ballads unsung and now forgotten
They are but a sad memory
Of a past time that once was
Their remains shall sleep on the rings
Eclipsing the white dwarven lord
For a few precious moments
May we all shine like the stars
All who seek to find the beginning
Wondering and failing to never end
For this is how we lived
For this is how we died
