Stars In Your Eyes Poem by Yasmin Khan

Stars In Your Eyes

Rating: 4.5

Let's rewrite the verse
O, little flower vendor

'Twinkle, twinkle little little star'
'How I wonder what you are'
Down beneath, in your eyes
Like a diamond does it shine

When Fate and world both mistreat
Then you come out in the street
'Then you show your little worth'
Twinkle, twinkle, all on earth

Carrying flowers all to sell
All around their sweet smell
Your lips sealed but eyes beg
How it's hard a price to peg

When they don't buy n just smile
Your tiny heart trembles for a while
'What'd I do if they wilt and fade?
Mom n siblings are hungry, you're afraid

I was deeply moved reading your poem, both by the poem itself and the picture of the little boy, a street vendor selling flowers to earn a livelihood. This picture is common in my country too, but the beautiful expression of your love for the boy touched me. Not many can express his/her emotion on small matters of our day to day life like this.
