Starting Over Poem by Billy Loving

Starting Over

This bottle and I
So long, we've passed the time by
Day after day
To fit in, my only way
In nature at home
Through the woods, free to roam
At home with the night
In it's quietness, I'd often delight
Trying to find myself again
Searching deep within
Starting over with me
From the alcohol, finally free
Down a lonely trail, I travel
As my new self starts to unravel
An unmolded piece of clay
I sculpt along the way
So onward, I travail
Through the seas of change, I sail
Unwavering faith, my guide
With full sails, I ride
The destination unknown to me
It's end, only my Lord can see
