Steak And Ketchup Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Steak And Ketchup

Steak and ketchup

Men had come from far,
-host fed them as arrived
-with steak…
-meal ended time to talk.

"We have come for the horse…"
-said a guest, explained:
-"…that unique, exception…
-…above all the heroes head to tail…
-…equal to thousand heroic and mythic….
-…in speed and power and long legs…
-…and the teeth…"

Lowered head the host, said:
-"Just ate it…"

The host was a fallen…
-for him things had faulted
-off the horse, not from the culture…
-that trained, showed ways of relations…
-"Love, treat with respect…
-always think you too are one of guests…"
-he served guests with steak…
-from horse he had meant to sell…
-but…
-host remained example forever…
-always well-respected…

That steak differs large
-from one in Riyadh
-corrupt hosts the corrupt
-murderer is guest of murderer
-this wild bunch too is fed with steak…
-of the mass bloodshed
-they gather for arms-sales
-to expand more terror
-in Yemen, Syria
-to Russia
-round the world
-but life is a Mary-Go-Around
-so will end in White House and Riyadh…
