Stents Again? Poem by Lawerence Mize, Sr.

Stents Again?

Why do doctors
cause such harm
Betray your trust
raise alarms

Put our faith
in their training and skill
Our implied consent
gives permission to kill

Not at first
That's not the game
Keep doing procedures
make a name

Go in once
maybe twice
Sooner or later
they'll pick up the knife

The more complicated the procedure
The more the cost
Hospitals and Doctors win
The patient suffers the loss

Look at the stents
being done today
How do we know
more than one is not okay?

It's always more
you silly fool
You smoked and drank
not so cool

So now you pay
at the end of the road
The Doctors are waiting
to lighten your load.
