Sticks And Stones - Poem by Hannah Hampton

Sticks and stones I can endure
For sticks and stones, there is a cure
A broken bone is not the end
For bones are not that hard to mend
A stick won't send me to my tomb
You can visit me in the emergency room
A vase of flowers beside my bed
A pretty sight to clear my head
Love, sit beside me for a spell
With your help, we'll get me well
Sticks and stones I can endure
For sticks and stones, there is a cure
From words I may recover never
Words hurt the most and hurt forever
