Stolen Nation Poem by zimi Nakeni

Stolen Nation

Stolen nation, the nation without dignity.
What change to have if the nation has lost dignity and values, morality and ethics, humbleness and decency.
The blind has been leading the blind, for years and years you have been running in circles with no direction.
What happened to you stolen nation?
Come back stolen nation come back.

Where is the spirit of humanity?
How can you support cruelty?
The more you fight to unlock yourself from these chains,
Is the more you bring confusion to the generations to come by adopting foreign cultures and forgetting your own culture.
Home shall always be home stolen nation.
Come back stolen nation come back.

You rejoice speaking other languages while no one speaks your language.
You daily kill the pride of our languages.
Lost and confused you are, as if you were taken to the far east and brought to the far west, stretched to the North Pole then called to the South Pole. I’m ashamed of you, how can you forget your own father. You call her names but she is your own mother.
Come back stolen nation come back.

I here by stand on top of hills,
Beating my African drum no one knows how it feels.
I’m reminded of my Africanize.
As young as I am, I daily fight racism.
When I look down I find my nation caught up in parallels of this world.
My generation has lost its origin they can n’t find meaning to my words.
Come back stolen nation come back

Strive to find your way back home.
Strive to know your destiny by knowing your past.
Come back to humanity, come back to love.
Come back stolen nation come back.
