Storm Inside
I fight to swim in this storm inside
I reach for shore in this raging tide
It tosses me, I think I'll drown
I'll never reach that shore-side town
From the waves my voice cries out
But the water drowns it, kills the shout
Will I be heard, will I be saved
Will this ocean ever be braved
I try to swim, try to stay afloat
Waiting, hoping for a passing boat
The waves push me down, I think I'm gone
But before I sink there breaks the dawn
It brings light but with it a tune
What's this song, I'll find out soon
Above the storm I hear it clear
It's the song that says hope is near
I find the strength to stay above the swell
I find the strength to swim till all is well
The song gets louder overcoming the storm
It nears and I feel it, safe and warm
And then before my strength gives way
I feel a hand reach down to save my day
Up out of the waves I'm pulled
You're now safe I was told
Now I stay ashore and watch the sea
Every grateful that from it I'm free
