Storytelling Poem by Harlequin Rose

Storytelling

The streets are full of stories
but only one sustains the heart
of this self-proclaimed dreamer
there are no words
there's only truth
averted eyes come together
in a moment of the rawest emotion
you and I have ever known
we build memories
on things we have not said
in anticipation of inevitable disaster
a vision in which I am the beginning
and you are the after
in the realms we have built above the street
our story takes form
on your skin
on my skin
and as we touch
the story becomes life
if we resist this
we are defenseless
we just may outlive our dreams
too full of love to stop and see
full is not heavy as empty, my love
and empty is not as heavy
as it seems.
