Strangers On The Street Poem by Joseph Caraveo

Strangers On The Street

We pass each other every day
Our eyes seldom meet
Hardly a word spoken
Like two strangers on the street

I gaze at you from across the room
You put your make up on
I think about holding you
In painful silence
I sit alone

I try and catch a moment with you
You walk right past
What can I do

I sit and smoke
Have my coffee
Pray you'll sit with me

You look my way
Then go over there
My pain is so thick
It's in the air

You walk thru the door at the end of the day
Your beauty steals my breath
I hope today will be different
My heart will get some rest

We pass each other every day
Our eyes seldom meet
Hardly a word spoken
We've become strangers on the street
