Strive For Sustenance Poem by Tirupathi Chandrupatla

Strive For Sustenance

Water in the lake has
Evaporated to very low depth
It only means simply that
Environment has changed.

No clouds float in the sky
There's no humidity in air
All trees turned up dry
As a result of heat wave.

Birds're in a troubled state
They're in no mood to sing
Water creatures at the bottom
Wriggle to survive no chance.

People struggle with their jobs
Each one moves as one pleases
Chimney from factory keeps sending
Billows of smoke into air.

Nature's our precious heritage
Nature's our inherent wealth
Fresh and pure air and water
Are truly our valued inheritances.

We need to gather ourselves
To sustain all these here on
We need to put in a great effort
To bring progress in our world.
