Suicide Poem by Tui Goodwin

Suicide

Falling slowly wind howling
I feel calm, heart is pounding
Flying swiftly stars bright
I've given up the fight
Blackness...
Peaceful in this nothingness
Sounds, beeping, voices
What are all these noises?
Lights flash, were am I?
Did I try?
Silence...
Blinking, body tense
Pain! Try to speak
Move my hand, seek
Nothing...
Who’s there?
I can’t see them this isn’t fare
Drifting between consciousness
I’m a mess
A face...
Arms pull me into an embrace
The fight is over.
