Sun And Son Poem by Bill Grace

Sun And Son

My wing man tells the story
of a former wife calling in a state of panic.
An exit was closed and she had to travel
into a nice but unknown part of town.
Juan knew the street she was on but did not know
whether she was pointed North or South,
he tells this story better than it is recorded here.

The Ex was asked where the sun was,
in the course of all of this, the unbridled emotional
response was one of tremendous irritation.
Once where the sun was - in the heavens - was established
every thing else became easy.

Much of our current crisis stems from a syndrome of factors
one of which is that we have made The Son illegal
and the sun while extremely powerful
does not substitute in our struggles.
As we move away from noetic spiritualities as ultimate concern
the healing spirit of Jesus can begin to take hold,
if we will invest energy in the Gospels -
and emulating the process of sacrifice and trust
characteristic of His life.
