Sun Play Poem by Diana van den Berg

Sun Play

The sun’s warm smiles
caress the forest
in sunshine and shadow handprints
on leaf and branch and trunk
and she bathes
in the blessings
of the early morning gifts
and those of him
who went out
to wander through
the sanctuary
to pick up a sun-kissed little red flower
fallen on the forest floor.
