Symbols Poem by Una Woods

Symbols

garden stones
commandments placed around the edge
of the freedom of flowers to grow wild
or in themselves symbols
of summer's real intention
to write in stone
the fleeting perfume of the freesia
and set it apart from the
eccentric diversions of the path
