Tagore Song (#25) I Could Hear Thy Footstep Poem by Tushar Ray

Tagore Song (#25) I Could Hear Thy Footstep

(Choron dhoni shuni tobo, Natho, jeebon-tire)

I could hear Thy footstep
On the banks of my life's rolling stream
In the softness of silence
Amidst harmony of the sweet winds

Planets and stars in the sky above
Gazing at me without a twinkle
While my thought current
Becoming leisurely, very slow -
My eyes being glued to heaven
Like the craving birds -
While my hearing tuned to
My deep consciousness around

Please tell me -
When in the next blessed morning?
Would Thou stand on my inner-heart?
Making me plunged in Blissful-tears
Beyond the pleasure-and-pain of life!
Oh my Beloved, please tell me!
