Tainted Love Poem by Keri Jopplin

Tainted Love

Parents aren't perfect and not always right,
But seducing your children isn't too bright!
What happened to love and kindness in touch;
Why is there pain, shame and such?

What gives you the thrill, the high, your kick?
Twisting our trust for your dirty trick.
What about us, our life, our tomorrow?
You've caused us anger, regrets and sorrow.

Why does this happen, do tell us why?
Now we are doubted and told we lie!
You know what you do and you know it's wrong.
When will you get caught? Why must it go on?

Did we loose or did we win?
Most of all, you've committed a sin!
Are we to blame for your fun and game;
To live and be damned, left with only our shame?

Children die with out love by their own hand;
Silently taking with them the horror of this land.
You blame it on alcohol and the use of drugs;
How long will it keep being swept under rugs?

I know this happens. Yes, I've been there.
Where is your heart? Show us you care;
Shower us with words, tenderness and affection,
Not foul play, tainted love and molestation.

Give us softness, concerns and a sweet caress;
Bless us now and today, tomorrow no less!

words are powerful weapons. we don't need to stab a person to kill. words can also kill. betraying our trust, playing with our feelings, we learn not to let anyone else in, never give someone else the opportunity to hurt us again, not to love somebody too much else that person has the power to hurt us. we die a silient deep inside.. bitterness is the only outcome from it all a true poem
