I dont want that day to come
the day that will end it all
that takes away my love
and leaves without a single call

the day i speak is of
is a day of death
whom takes you away with a shove
leaves you without a single breath

if death does take you
then he must take me
i cant live without you
you have to be here so i can see

i must be able to see you smile
kiss your tender lips
i been waiting for you many whiles
so our lips may touch and give such tender kiss

please death i beg you
dont take him away
i would be glad to take his place
not wanting to see him go a stray

knowing well enough if he leaves before me
how much life will die
right before my very eyes
unable to survive

Death i beg you!
dont take him away from me
take me in his place
so he can know i love him always
