Talk Of The Town Poem by Tosin Abegunde

Talk Of The Town

Here in the hallowed Agbabiaka,
As thunder rolls in its strength,
My name echoes and my fame
Rides on the wings of the skies.

A million ears greed to hear of me
All eyes shrug to see more of me.
Like a boa, hearts lay in ambush
To strike on weight the tale push:

What a story, that makes me stink
Before whom no one could think!
Your truths are all galaxy of lies
Cameleon by your crocodile cries.

People, in nook and corner, gather
In solidarity to make me scatter
But alas, like a blinding day break
The chains of lies, the truths break.

Where the world had gathered
To make my garment shattered,
My soiled branded name of shame
Later becomes a hall of fame.

I am Aniyikaye, talk of the town.
