Tears For Jerusalem

She can’t be won nor ever sold
Yet wooed with loving care
Caressing her heart of solid gold
Jerusalem’s to share

Many a voice has come to sing
Hearts have blessed in praise
The city of our coming King
The Ancient One of days

What visions will her radiance stir?
Pleasures to flow inside
For Christ Himself has wept for her
Through love He failed to hide

For does she not belong to Christ?
And all who’ll dwell within
For such The Lord was sacrificed
That love may rise within

Love in a child He’ll call His own
Who’ll seek His guiding hand
Who’ll give to Him their hearts of stone
To dwell His Promised Land

Can anyone on earth divide?
God’s property of Light
Where only children can abide
Who’ll take from sin their flight

Who’ll pledge their trust what Heaven’s planned
Through faith in God’s decree
On Zion Hill she’ll come to stand
In hope of that to be

Great is our God great is His might
Great is our Father’s love
The future city shining bright
Descending from above
