Teddy Bear - Childish Poem Poem by Kevin Patrick

Teddy Bear - Childish Poem

Rating: 5.0

Climbing on a Scrap mound
Of trinkets and old knickknacks
And Sitting on the top spot
Gazing up above the sky patch
Teddy Bear dreams upon a day
That he’ll play, with his friend
And he’ll never be sad again
Because Teddy Bear will find a happy end

And Teddy Bear ventures
From ice islands to emerald lands
Searching for a pen pal
With warm hearts and gentle hands
And he braves the tough world
Knowing that one day soon
That they’ll be game to play all day
And someone special to plat with like you

And he Watches shooting stars
Leaving trails that twinkle gold
Chasing after wishes
With a handkerchief to hold
Teddy Bear braves the dark waiting for the day not long away
That he’ll find hands to hold, it’s true
Because me and Teddy Bear are the same

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I was thinking about my old Teddy Ruxpin, which was a doll popular in the 80's early 90's that had a tape deck which told stories, it made me think of what happens to all the old toys, and I just had that picture of a teddy bear looking for a home to be loved. Its cheesy stuff, but I just wanted to do something sweet and innocent.
