Teenage World Poem by emily summers

Teenage World

Rating: 5.0

Thoughts rush through my mind,
I'm falling far behind,
be cool at all costs,
I just feel so lost,
people pressuring me,
making me be someone i don't want to be,
they're to narrow minded to see,
that we should own individuality,
don't be clever you look like a geek,
these unspoken rules make me lose sleep,
maybe if i was thinner that guy would like me,
if i looked older they would stop calling me a baby,
if i was prettier the girls would talk to me,
i'm being sucked into a black hole of teenage reality.

Emily, take it from me, fashion doesn't make the person. That comes from inside. Be a geek, do your own thing so long as its legal and don't hurt anyone. When I grew up I was a geek and I'm not frightened to admit it. All this trend thing is OK if your manufacturing it and making lots of money from it. Personally I'd just rather be me. Great poem. Top Marks from me. Thanks for sharing it my friend. David
