Tennyson Has Found At Last Poem by Mary Angela Douglas

Tennyson has found at last

Avalon and all that past

no longer hidden in the mists

of what could have been

the kingdoms that would last.

such citadels his poems to me

can never deconstructed be

and elegies without end

unfold the petals of these hours.

lay no flowers at his tomb

he lives again whenever we resume

the reading of him

at any juncture.lyric and steadfast,

the unabated mourning of a friend.

the sentimental, set to exquisite rights.
