Thank God For Jesus

Thank God for life's Saviour Jesus
The truth He died to tell
Instead of a will to please us
He'll guide one free of hell

Knowing man's loathsome selfish heart
Self's intention to sin
Discerning light to keep apart
Especially within

Where consciousness is bad enough
Where self remains as king
But righteousness revealing stuff
Is quite another thing

But God The Lord's funny that way
Humour as none before
Willing, waiting all night all day
To open one, life's door

However evil sins have been
How filthy, still we live
With grace, true love He'll come between
Through Christ, new birth to give

To live, afresh, to start again
With eyes no longer blind
To live, truly to start once more
With Heaven on one's mind

All praise to God, for Christ His Son
Life's Lamb He chose to die
Through whom eternal life is won
For such as you and I

How greatly are you in need now?
However much your shame
With heart, with soul, repent and bow
Through faith in Jesus' Name.....
