Thank You My God

How dark it is and still so clear
How far the eye can see
Such peace I’m feeling lying here
How close can that star be?

Its getting late but still quite warm
How beautiful and bright
This time last night was such a storm
But look how it is tonight

How nice feeling that little breeze
How great my God You are
How marvellous seeing these
The moon that twinkling star

Lord, how could I think even dream
How glorious the view
Lying here feet in this stream
And talking here with You

How could You think of all these things
The trees my God such trees
A butterfly with angel wings
How wonderful are these

Look at the hedgehog over there
With spikes instead of fur
There food’s just crawling everywhere
They hardly need to stir

How can they think there is no God?
Those fish in yonder lake
I’d like to give them all a prod
And shake each one awake

I thank my God for showing me
For opening my eyes
And letting me here freely see
This world, this paradise!
