That Bird Poem by Suzae Chevalier

That Bird

'Haven't you heard about that bird?
A baby Mocking bird
hit my windshield real fast...
I thought
'I have to give this baby bird another chance.'
So I turned around and came back.
As I drove back I was surprised--
no cars in sight; baby bird alive.
I stop my car and look down
the baby birds wing is hurt
she's flat on the ground.
I said to the lady who pulled up behind me--
'A baby bird hit my windshield and she seems Ok.
'Thank you for saving her, you made my day.'
I held baby bird in my hand as I did drive
she blinked her tiny dark eyes.
She recovered at wild animal reserve--
she was healed there,
a life she deserved.
Later I would find out---
why no cars on the road
a revelation from
Holy Spirit which was told--
God orded a big holy angel
to come down
to stand in the way--
hold back traffic to stay---
Stay away from me
and that bird on that
miraculous day.
