Sean Joyce (17 April Everyear / Galway, Ireland)
That Box
That frigging box
it has us nearly damned
clamouring for attention
stealing all our time
All the pretty bits and lies
not to enlighten but disguise
to focus our attention
on this TV Point Of Sale
This box spends our time
And we beguiled comply
making counterfeit celebrities
out of minor entities
Who would be welcome
were there not a loss
our loss of course our time
our thinking time
And what is that
our thinking time
if not the time of our lives
I think our thinking time is
the time of our lives
Yes I am sure it is
our thinking time that is
the time of our lives I mean
at least that is what I think it is
I’m sure I saw a program
'said as much
