That Glow Poem by R.C. Aspinall

That Glow

Lately I seem to be always thinking of her,
She was the girl that had the glow in her eye.
I graduated high school and moved to college,
And that’s the day potential love died.

I had to grow up and move on with life,
But I didn’t want to leave her behind.
She has moved on as well now,
But I wish I could rewind.

The feelings are still there,
Just as they were then.
But I was too scared to tell her,
I wish I had a chance to do it over again.

I wish I could change my actions,
She was the girl with the glow in her eye.
I hope I feel that way again sometime,
But I don’t want to say goodbye.

I hold onto the thought of us,
And I will always have hope.
But I know there is a slim chance,
And I will have to cope.
