That Nights Mistake Poem by Katheryn Foley

That Nights Mistake

The candle and the flame your risking everything,

The slightest touch you've said too much,

This love that is escaping your heart is cruel,

But you have the strength to hold on to it.

You start to slip and lose control these feelings burst like a bubble of love,

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath,

She pushed until there was nothing left,

The boy could only stay in silence as the cool misty air by the lake became suffocating,

The realization of their mistake,

Left them standing in the entrance of fate,

Luck brought them out of the fog and int the light that was longed for,

Forgiveness was accomplished and strength renewed,

This love had gone back to what it knew.
