What do you think this poem is about?

that thing called happy

What is happiness?
I think I had it once.

Where is happiness?
I think I found it once.

Now I've lost it.

Once my cheeks were rosy.
Once stars sparkled in my eyes.
Once there was a smile on my face.

Now I've lost it.

nnw all i've got
is this bottle of pills
that's supposed to make me happy.
can anyone explain
why they don't seem to work?

The doctor says I'm losing weight
and this is really not good.
The teachers say I'm losing face
and this is really not good.
My parents say I'm a disgrace
and this is really not good.

What does it matter anyway?
The weight, the face, the disgrace?
It's all some one else anyway.

What is happiness?
I think I had it once.

Where is happiness?
I think I found it once.

Once my cheeks were rosy.
Once stars sparkled in my eyes.
Once there was a smile on my face.

Now I've lost it.

I think that sometimes
I can almost feel it-
That thing called happy.

But then I lose it.

It's not in the pills
even though I thought it would be.

It's not in other people
even though I thought it would be.

I thought you loved me.
Once upon a time
I thought you cared.

I think I've found it now-
that thing called happy.

But not where I thought I would.
You didn't have it.
The pills didnt have it.

I had it inside of me.

What is happiness?
I'm not really sure, but it's good.

Where is happiness?
Right here.
