The 99% Poem by Patience

The 99%

Ninety-nine percent of people stop caring about their fellow man, until they realize they are that man too.

Sometimes its just too late to make amends,
with the arrogant socializers, heat-seeking lifestylers,
honesty paralyses all those fickle friends.

What greed must saturate smiling thieves to steal,
from the sick who lay dying under their wheels…

How rude to pretend we know how it feels.

We'll reap reward, and suffer no cost,
if we each force the gates, enter the space,
and Occupy the embrace
of just one friend,
we know is lost.
