The Absence Of Fear Is Not Equal To Recklessness Poem by Kenneth Maswabi

The Absence Of Fear Is Not Equal To Recklessness

Rating: 3.5

In its entirety fear is not a monster
To be feared and despised
Fear is a mechanism to open spiritual channels
And address physical realities
Fear is a pathway to quietening the mind
Or a switch to total chaos inside the labyrinth of consciousness
It's terrible to let fear soak your mind
But yet again it's unwise not to listen to fear
Fear holds the key to your next steps
Do not put it down before you have a solid plan
The desirable plan is not fight or flight
It's the establishment of facts
Strategizing on the best way forward
And following a solid path
As we move to the next phase of COVID-19 pandemic
Let's not forget the ferocity of the coronavirus disease
Let's not disband all our fear mechanisms
Let's re-collect ourselves
And match forward with renewed hope
Holding to every advice from the Health Ministry
Let's us be filled with vigour and vitality
As we put on our masks
Continue social distancing as necessary
Wash our hands more often
Our victory lies on our ability to quieten our minds amidst the raging storm
And take heed of all the precautions
Together we are victorious
