The Answer Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

The Answer

The answer

The most asked question is:
"What is life? "

From seas to skies
Varied are the replies!

"Come, stay for a while."

"Eat, drink, and have fun."

"God made us for a cause."

Somehow, all conclude:
"Soon we go, will depart,
Die and fade footprints,
Wanting it or want not."

What we know in our hearts,
Is knowing, "We know not! "

I have talked with fire,
About ancient question.

Brought pan and water
Set the pan on the fire,
Let metal look ember.

Moved hand and right index,
Drenched in cold water,
To fly over pan, heated red
Fell drops, I observed.

Recalled our revolution,
At first with confidence
They landed like rulers,
In the heat they bubbled,
Bewildered and shivered,
Evaporated, no trace...

Hallucinated, stood there
In the search of answer!
